Abstract

This thesis interest to control of multilevel converter-inverter doubly fed induction machine system in the case of unbalanced and distorted grid voltage. One drawback of DFIM is it sensitivity to any grid distortion because the stator is directly connected to the grid. This fact may be give limitation of use of DFIM especially in wind energy generation due to imposed electricity code. Hence the power injected in the grid must be performed. So the classical control techniques have to be improved to overcome this drawback. In this work a harmonic elimination of grid and stator currents of doubly fed induction machine supplied by distorted source is proposed. Direct power control with space vector modulation (DPC-SVM) is used to control both grid-side and rotor-side converters. To achieve the control objective, compensated active and reactive powers are calculated based on elimination of harmonic current component reside in active and reactive power equations and added to the referencing one. A theoretical analysis of active and reactive power under non ideal source is clearly demonstrated and the effect of distorted source on performance of DFIM is profoundly discussed. Simulation results verified the effectiveness of the modified control strategy.
